A super primrose brooch by Exquisite for the Birthday month of February. My daughter has this exact primrose spray as birthday is in February. I have also given a fuchsia spray to a friend for her birthday in July. This particular brooch is in beautiful condition there is usually some loss of enamel, remember these brooches are up to sixty years old or more but on this piece it is minimal as you can see from the photographs. I have an obsession with "Exquisite' jewellery and have a large collection. Every so often I can just about bring myself to sell some pieces where I have more than one. . British jewellery company “Exquisite” (1914 – 1970) was founded by engraver Augustus Harry Power (1878 -1952) and Clarence Oswald Flint (1880 – 1946), in the city of Solihull. The Exquisite Vintage costume jewellery became especially popular after the Second World War. Exquisite hand enamelled jewellery is recognized as original and of high quality. Though the main brand name was Exquisite, they also produced Mirella and originally Myths and Magic by the Tudor Mint. Exquisite costume jewellery was hand painted enamel, or made of gold or silver plate. “Birthday Flower Brooch” series with a different flowers for each month has become incredibly popular amongst collectors. Exquisite brooches are hand painted, so each one is original and unique.
