This is a rare and extremely lovely piece of vintage ethnic silver jewellery. Both the clasp and the central front motif of the choker is made up of a pair of Makara, making four individual heads. The fabulous articulated chain of groups of plain and ridged links. The Makara (Sanskrit: मकर) is a legendary sea-creature in Hindu culture. It may take many different forms throughout Hindu culture. Makara is equivalent to the Zodiac sign Capricorn.
